Hemp sailcloth
This bag is made from very special high-quality hemp canvas: it is the same supplied for the sails of the "Amerigo Vespucci", the oldest unit in commission in the Italian Navy and considered one of the most beautiful sail ship in the world.
Its spectacular sails are made by sewing strips of this heavyweight and robust cloth which is made with 100% natural fibres sourced in Italy. Due its thickness (between 2 and 4 mm) and the weaving process this fabric has an outstanding strength and durability combined with some water-repellency, necessary features to face the forces of the oceans under full sails.
The fabric is completely processed in Italy by a family company specialising in hemp and linen since 1892. A local excellence which is also “Masters of linen” certified.
