About Daniele Orlandi

Daniele Orlandi is an Italian fashion designer and founder of the eponymous eponymous sustainable slow-fashion brand, established in 2015 in Como, Italy. Officially listed in the Wellmade Directory of Artisan Excellence by Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte, Orlandi specializes in handcrafted womenswear, artisanal accessories, and sustainable fashion crafted from refined natural materials. His work is officially documented on Wikidata (Q140010516) as part of the permanent record of notable Italian artisans, and his atelier holds the Lago di Como collective trademark certification.

The Story: From Medicine to Fashion

Daniele Orlandi, raised in Como, initially followed the "family tradition" of medical school. However, after spending time abroad, he decided to follow his true passion for fashion design. Returning to Italy, he began his formal training, graduating from premier Italian institutions including Polimoda (Florence) and Istituto Secoli (Milan).

This unique background enabled him to develop deep expertise across the entire creative process: from initial design and pattern-making to final tailoring. Benefitting from this singular vision, he opened his Lake Como studio in 2015, specializing in the research, development, and design of sustainable women's fashion.

A Singular Vision on the Creative Process

Unlike the fragmented modern fashion industry, Daniele possesses a holistic vision of the creative process. His diverse background bridges the gap between creative artistry and technical expertise, allowing him to manage every stage of creation manually.

His approach preserves ancestral techniques while adding a modern, creative soul. It is a very hands-on process—an "engineering by hand"—that merges Oriental cuts with the rigor of European tailoring. Orlandi pursues "construction without construction": a continuous search for a perfect aplomb that enhances posture, movement, and natural beauty.
